Performance & Session Work
My musical career has led me to play in a number of bands with a range of musical styles. As a result of this I am capable of delivering a solid and authentic performance regardless of the style of music in any given situation. I have a wealth of experience in recording and am more than comfortable in a studio environment. My command of the instrument, ability to improvise and a certified knowledge of stylistic appreciation has led to me being commissioned for many live musical projects. I am currently a member of 2 function bands, a brief description and booking details are included below:
Orchadia
Orchadia is a Ceilidh band that I play bass in. At the time of writing, the band will only perform by special request due to the fact that we are primarily a band that raises money for charity, if you would like to book the band and are prepared to make a worthwhile donation to one of our chosen charities as well as cover basic expenses for the band then please feel free to email me here.
Holding On
Holding On is a rock/pop/soul covers band, we will be able to be booked in the 2nd quarter 2011. We are a dynamic band that specialises in weddings and other functions playing a wide range of covers which we are able to pick and choose depending on the flow of each particular gig. Arranging, Composition & Transcription
I have extensive experience in writing many forms of music in a variety of styles too long to list. My experience includes writing my own music, writing to a theme, arranging existing pieces and transcribing parts. For an example of some of my transcription work, please visit the Scores page. I have experience of synchronising music to film and have composed a full orchestral score for a final year degree film which can be viewed in the Media section. My attitude to work, coupled with extensive theory knowledge has enabled me to approach projects I might otherwise be unfamiliar with and deliver professional results.
