The tracks in the media player are various songs I've recorded throughout the years, dating back as far as 8 years ago right through to current projects. Please note that some of the content on this page contains language that some people may find offensive.

Below are some comments about each of the tracks. As with the tracks on the media player the songs are arranged in chronological order with the most recent songs at the top.

Preston FM Interview

This is an edited version of a radio interview I did for the fresh on air show (now the Alex and Rob Show) on Preston FM, I've edited out the copyrighted songs and trimmed down the show to just the interview section. The show also features a demo version of a song which will be included properly on the site soon.

Colony - Down, Deep and Sideways Back (Remastered radio edit)

This is a remastered radio edit of the song, done for the interview on Preston FM.

Colony - Revelation

A song written by the singer and myself, it's an acoustic track which is a social commentary on the culture of fear we live in.

Colony - Down, Deep and Sideways Back

This is a song I wrote and decided to form a band around, it's a sleazy rock tune with a funky vibe.

ANFSKS - Dark Lights

This is from a project called ANFSKS and is a mostly orchestral song, based around a simple descending scale riff played on the guitar.

ANFSKS - AME

Again from ANFSKS, this is a death metal song with some experimental sections, recorded in late 2007, it features James Hook and myself on vocals.

Si Hardacre - Mother's Love

A piece written in tribute to my Mother. This is a contemplative song which features an early experiment with string arrangement.

Si Hardacre - M.O.D.

This song was originally written for Taming but never ended up being used. It contains sampled beats and fast intricate rhythms in the breakdown section as well as a Pantera influenced outro.

Taming The Insane - Assisted Suicide

Taken from the demo I did with Taming The Insane, this song has experiments with harmonics and whammy bar riffing.

Taming The Insane - Warhead

This song is from the Taming The Insane Demo and is a thrash metal song with various movements. The song was a live favourite and was often used as the set closer.

Sabre - Cosmic

Written with help from my friend Ernie, this is a tribute to the overblown nature of the 80's, the chorus has about 5 layered guitars to give a big epic feel to it.

Si Hardacre - 1601

I wrote this whilst I was at college in London, it originally started off as a simple practice beat to jam along to and developed into this.

Broken Down - Track 3

This was the first song Broken Down wrote after the drummer requested a change in direction, it was the first song written by myself and the new guitarist James Hook.

Broken Down - Track 2

Taken from the same recording as 'Track 1' (we didn't have a singer at this point so the songs were never given names).

Broken Down - Track 1

This was the first song Broken Down wrote, recorded at Blackburn College; it's a hard rock song with a wide range of influences.

Blackburn College

Recorded during my time at Blackburn College, it is a cover version of a Rubettes song and was done as part of an assignment, it was performed entirely by the students on the course and features myself on lead guitar.

Bubble Music

Written after purchasing a nylon strung guitar, it was an early attempt to compose a classical style piece for solo guitar.

Fingerpicking Blues

This is one of my earliest recordings, it's a piece performed on a resonator guitar and treated with a 'vinyliser' to degrade the sound quality and give the impression of an old vinyl recording from the 30's.
